5 star ratingTim, the owner is quite a chatter but I believe this is only because he is very passionate about his business. He is helpful and you won't feel your being rushed to place your orders. The pictures of the cabinets below is made fron the plywood and other wood I purchased from this store.

5 star ratingI was impressed. He cut the 3/4 inch plywood into 5 pieces in less than 10 minutes, all very precise, quality cuts. Definitely not Home Depot. I would recommend this service to anyone who needs their paneling or plywood cut.

What Is Plywood?

Plywood is a type of engineered wood made from slicing thin layers of wood from wood veneers. These layers—referred to as plies—are then glued together in a perpendicular fashion. This creates a stable, economical type of wood used in the construction of many types of buildings, fences, shelving, furniture, and more.

What Are the Different Types of Plywood?

There are many different types of ratings, grades, and sizes of plywood. At House of Plywood & Paneling, our plywood shop offers a wide selection of cheap plywood and specialty plywood to meet all of your construction needs.

Plywood Ratings

A plywood rating indicates where a piece of plywood should be used—inside or outside. An Exposure 1 rating means that the plywood can sustain certain weather and temperature conditions during construction only, but not for a long period of time. Exposure 1 plywood should be used for construction that will eventually be sheltered from the elements.

An Exterior rating indicates that the plywood has been waterproofed and can sustain conditions including inclement weather and extreme temperatures. Exterior rated plywood is approved for outdoor construction.

Plywood Grades

The various grades of plywood indicate the quality of the material. Plywood comes in grades ranging from A to D, with A being the highest quality and D being the lowest quality. The type of plywood you select will depend on your project specifications as well as your budget. Grade A plywood is more expensive, for example while Grade D plywood is the most affordable plywood.

Plywood Sizes

Plywood can also be purchased in various sizes and thicknesses. While the most common size plywood measures 4 feet by 8 feet, other sizes such as 5 feet by 5 feet are available. Specialty sizes can be cut to fulfill certain project specifications as well. Plywood can range in thickness from 1/8 inch to 3 inches.
